Legal Issues for Drug Users and Counselling Skills

3rd Day session was handled by Mr. C. Maran (Superintendent of Police, East - Puducherry) and by Mr. M. Paneerselvam (Senior Counsellor of Bharathamatha IRCA).

Mr. C. Maran take over the session about Legal Issues for Drug Users and Mr. M. Paneerselvam take over the session about Counselling skills.

Topics Covered (Legal Issues):-

1. Narcotic Drugs.
2. Punishment and Offence for Drug Users.
3. Statics report of Puducherry.
4. Why Adolescents taking Drugs. 

Participants asked the doubts related to the topics and also key person has explained and clarified all doubts.

Mr. M. Paneerselvam has started the session about Counselling skills in De-addiction field.

1. Qualities of Counsellor
2. Listening and Responding.
3. Verbal and Non-Verbal Cues of Counsellor.
4. Paraphrasing, Reflection of Feelings, Summarizing, Probing, Interpreting, Confrontation, Self Disclosure.
5. Response that Block Communications.
