ODIC (Outreach and Drop In Centre) Puducherry and Bharathamatha IRCA has jointly organized a Awareness Program about Ill Effects of Alcoholism and Drugs to the Prisoners in Central Prison of Puducherry.
In these Program, Bharathamatha IRCA, Project Director Mr. A. Shivanandam and ODIC Centre In-charge Mr. V. Arun Praveen has asking the permission for conducting a awareness program to the prisoners on June 2nd Week to the Jail Superintendent Mr. Gopinath.
On 22nd June, permission letter came from Jail Superintendent for confirmation letter to conduct a Awareness Program in Central Prison on 25th June 2021 morning 10am to 12pm.
In these awareness Program Chairman of Mother Trust Mr. V. Gopal Pillai, Project Director of Bharathamatha IRCA Mr. A. Sivanandam, ODIC Centre In-charge Mr. V. Arun Praveeen and Outreach Worker of ODIC Mr. K. Pragaspathy has participated in this program.
Mr. Gopinath (Jail Superintendent) has welcoming all and introduced all resource person. After that Chairman of Mother Trust Mr. V. Gopal Pillai has started the session.
Mr. V. Gopal Pillai has spoke about services and projects of the Mother Trust and Alcoholism is a Disease, Disease Concept, Classification of Drugs, Three stages of Addicts.
Mr. A. Sivanandam has explained about the Treatment Procedure, Counselling methods, Followups of IRCA doing.
Mr. V. Arun Praveen has explained about the schemes and services of the ODIC in Puducherry like Awareness Program, Client Intake, Referral Method, Treatment Method, Counselling Method, Follow Ups procedure.
Finally, conducted a mini quiz competition activity and issued 3 prizes of first 3 winners.
First prize - Mahatma Gandhi (Suya Sarithai), Second prize - Karmaverar Kamaraj (History), Third prize - Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam (Agni Siragugal) Books.
Finally Mr. Gopinath (Jail Superintendent) has honoring our chariman and Mr. K. Pragaspathy has given Vote of Thanks.
