 3rd STAKEHOLDERS CONFERENCE

Mother Trust - Outreach and Drop In-Centre and Bharathamatha Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA) has jointly organized a 3rd Stakeholders conference in ODIC office on 27th of August 2021 at 10.30 am onwards.

In this 3rd Stakeholders conference Chief Guest was Mrs. M. Clara Maria Christian - Assistant Director in Children's Observation Home, Ariyankuppam, Puducherry and Mr. R. Kathirvelu - Joint Block Development Officer in Ariyankuppam, Puducherry.

Stakeholders of the program was Mr. A. Prakash (Social Worker in Sharana NGO), Mrs. G. Lakshmi (Health Worker in Angalakuppam Village a unit of Sharana NGO), Mrs. D. Barmavathy (Field Worker in Adecom Network), Mr. G. Rasaiya - Associate Director in TYCL), Mrs. Yuvayazhini (Co-ordinator in Research and Development from TYCL|), Mrs. Kalyani (Community Profession in TN Palayam Village).

Mrs. V. Gomathy (Anganwadi Worker in Kudiyiruppupalayam), Mrs. K. Vidhiya Counellor in PSDF NGO), Ms. S. Sugantha (Counsellor in PSDF NGO), Ms. M. Immaculate Angline from Child Line, Mr. G. Gopi from Child Line, Mr. Udhaya Kumar form Hope Trust, Mr. Ruban from Hope Trust and Mrs. G. Mary Anganwadi Teacher from Sanniyasithoppu.

Our Outreach Worker Mr. K. Pragaspathy has welcoming our Chief Guest and also Stakeholders.

Mr. V. Gopal Pillai (Chairman of Mother Trust) was briefly explained about the various projects runs under the Mother Trust. He gave some examples for currently our society facing problems like theft, sexual harassment, domestic violence, etc.., These major problems has comes due to the influence of consuming drugs.



He explained the Ill Effects of Alcoholism, Causes and Effects, Three phases, Treatment procedures for controlling the Alcohol users.

After his speech, Chief Guest has honoring the best Social Worker  and Best Social Service award as per ODIC Staffs finalized.

Best Social Worker Award goes to Mr. A. Prakash from Sharan NGO.

Best Social Service Award goes to Mrs. G. Lakshmi from Sharana, Mrs. G. Mary from Sanniyasithoppu Anganwadi, Mrs. V. Gomathy form Kudiyiruppupalayam Angangwadi, Mrs. D. Barmavathy form Adecom Network and Mrs. Kalyani from TN Palayam.



After the Honoring session Chief Guest Mr. R. Kathirvelu - Joint BDO in Ariyankuppam has spoken about the youngster has been highly addict in the substance abuse and doing illegal activities.



Continued by Mrs. M. Clara Maria Christian - Assistant Director in Children's Observation Home, Ariyankuppam, Puducherry has spoke about how the children has easily addict the substances and doing the illegal activities in early stage of their life.



Followed by Mr. V. Gopal Pillai has explained about the IRCA schemes and services to the stakeholders. IRCA means Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts. In this scheme was supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.

In this scheme fully Inpatient service with free of cost. Once the client joins in this scheme one month Inpatient service provided. Counsellor has intake the client and teach about the Disease concept to the client family members and that intake the client with a prescribe format. During a month of Inpatient treatment, first a week client under the Detoxification. After that, Counsellor has given Classes, Therapy and Individual Counselling to the client.

Weekly two days (Wednesday and Saturday) compulsory one of the family members of the client should be participate in the family counselling session in IRCA Centre. In Family counselling session, counsellor has conducted a session to the family members. There are four session for a family counselling like Disease concept, Co-dependency Traits, Relapse Preventions and Disulfirm Tablet.

Before Discharge, Counsellor has clearly explained about the Disulfirm Tablet uses, causes and effects to the patient and their family member after that only issued a tablet to the patient with the concern form.

After Discharge two years continuous follow up like Home visit and Phone follow up.

After the chairman speech Mr. V. Arun Praveen (Centre Incharge of ODIC) has briefly explained about ODIC Schemes and Services to the Stakeholders.

ODIC (Outreach and Drop In Centre) schemes was started in the month of September 2019 supported by National Institute of Social Defence and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi. Its fully Outreach services to the Drug Users and Drop in Centre for the Drug Users.

In this scheme, One Centre Inchage cum Counsellor, Three Outreach Worker, One Part Time Doctor and One Part Time Accountant.

Outreach Worker has conducted an Awareness program in vulnerable areas like Drug Use areas, Sea shore, Hotspot areas etc.

After the awareness program, outreach worker has found the hotspot of the areas and draws the Hotspot mapping. After that taken a mini survey in the hotspot. In this mini survey will be helpful for identifying the patient in that areas.

Once ORW has intake the client refer a nearby Hospital/ IRCA/ PHC/ GH/ Clinic for getting treatment like Inpatient or Outpatient service.

After that ORW doing follow ups like Home Visit or Phone Follow up, Individual Counselling, Family Counselling and Group Therapy around 2 years form the date of Intake.

In this Drop In-Centre part time Doctor has visit weekly once or twice or else two weeks once or twice based upon the client time.

Recreational Activities, Free Counselling, Free Medicine has provided in Drop In Centre. These are the ODIC Schemes and Services.

After all guest speech, Stakeholders has sharing their works, services to the other stakeholders.

From Sharana NGO Mr. A. Prakash has sharing the services of Sharana NGO in Puducherry.



Mr. Raasaiya has sharing the TYCL schemes and services, Mrs. V. Gomathy has sharing the Anganwadi Activities and explained about the area issues under the anganwadi limits, Mrs. Barmavathy has sharing the Adecom Network services, Mrs, Kalyani has sharing her experience of gathering the public and issues in her village, Mr. Gop has sharing a Child Line Activities and Services, Mr. Ruban has sharing a Hope Trust activities and Services and Finally Mrs. Vidhya has sharing a PSDF activities and services to the other stakeholders.



After the interaction session doubts has been clarified by ODIC staffs and distributed ODIC IEC material to all stakeholders and chief guest.

Finally vote of thanks was given by Ms. T. Anusuya (Outreach Worker of ODIC).

Around 15 members have participated in the 3rd Stakeholders conference successfully this conference has been ended without any issues. Covid 19 safety measures has been strictly followed
